Toast your Ealing stay with a Fuller’s Griffin Brewery tour
- August 1, 2017
Whilst enjoying a stay at our boutique hotel in Ealing London, there are some great activities on offer for you to enjoy. A particular highlight for beer-lovers is the nearby Fuller’s Brewery, where you can take a tour and get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how their refreshing beer is brewed.
The Chiswick area has an extensive beer-brewing history which stretches back more than 350 years when families regularly brewed beer in their own homes. The Fuller’s Brewery is located on Chiswick Lane, just a short tube ride away from Hotel 55. The brewery has a rich history, with the building dating back to 1828. Fuller’s have been brewing their famous beer for over one hundred and sixty years.
The brewery hosts up to twenty tours a week, which are conducted by expert guides who will be able to answer all your questions about the brewing process. The wonderful aromas really will leave you desperate to sample the beer yourself and luckily the tour concludes with a tasting of a selection of the brewery’s finest ales. The tour and tasting lasts for around an hour and a half in total. When you’ve sampled the finest of their ales you will undoubtedly want to take some away with you to share with family and friends so make sure you don’t miss the shop. Rare and unique gifts are plentiful in the shop with some of their most exclusive ales available which date back to 1997. You can even buy mini casks or large barrels to take home for a party. If you want something other than beer, they also have plenty on offer including a range of cider and Fuller’s merchandise.
A great way to conclude your trip is to pop next door to the pub, The Mawson Arms. They offer a traditional British pub menu including pies, sausage and mash, and sticky toffee pudding. All of the produce is sourced locally and delivered fresh every day. If you can manage it, they also sell the best of Fuller’s beer on tap, including the brewery’s signature tipple, London Pride.
